Ok, not to get all touchy feely or anything, but as someone whose weight has been all over the map the past 7 or so years, I do often have you in mind when I’m getting in shape. Not that I would ever EVER have a body anything like yours (are we even the same species?), but…oh, how can I put this? I sense approval when I’m fitter and disapproval when I’m not. And I would so, so much rather have the approval of my physique from my skinny, fit friends than the “join in with my flabbiness!” approval of out-of-shape friends trying to get someone to justify their chub. When I go for a run, it’s to get one workout closer to that time you saw me from afar and wondered who that skinny woman was. (I’m getting there — the other day at the gym, a woman asked me if I’m training for a triathlon. I had to tell her no once I’d stopped laughing.)

The problem with having a runner’s physique is that no one asks you to model underwear. The upside is they never ask you to move furniture either.
